One of the recently created bike-hiking trails is in this area of Liguria. It runs along the coast of the Flower Riviera from San Lorenzo al Mare to Ospedaletti (the Sanremo-Pian di Poma-Ospedaletti and Arma di Taggia-Via Queirolo-Darsena stretches are still being built). This flat 24 kilometer (15 mile) trail, facing the sea and flanked by gardens, was created on the layout of the old railroad line. This is a must occasion to relax while also getting some exercise.
The trail is suitable for everyone and can be taken all year long due to the fabulous weather of the Riviera. The access to the beaches and urban centers from the trail is quite easy for all those wanting to take a swim or shop or discover the art and culture of the historic centers.
Bike rentals are available along the entire trail. The use of this bike trail is completely free of charge and subject to the rules of the road so the speed limit is set at a maximum of 20 km/h. There are numerous snack areas and rest stops along the trail with benches, drinking fountains and cycle racks where you can park and relax. There are bike racks also in the villages; some free of charge other with a fee and some parking areas right on the trail.
